It’s all about baggage, something everyone has in spades. Once again, we saw a Ted-focused show. I’m not complaining, but Barney played a cameo role at best. And talk about someone with baggage – Barney takes the cake ! Why the writers have put Barney on the shelf, so to speak, is not known, but it’s Ted time to shine and he came through, didn’t he ?
The Wedding Bride was hilarious. The screenwriter really cast a shallow “Ted” whom any self-respecting girl would have nothing to do with. Then being left at the altar as his bride-to-be shuffled off with her ex-boy friend – was this a bad dream or what ! I think it said a lot more about Stella than “Ted”, like maybe getting him to propose in order to drive her ex to action ? Could she be so devious – my vote is a strong yes.
Nonetheless, Ted’s explanation of what happened (his baggage) almost lost him a young lady who – for a moment – seemed to be part of a promising relationship. Pancakes appear to have saved the day. The bottom line is that someone or something often gives you a hand with your baggage and things work out.
What is Marshall’s baggage – that he is too nice, loaning money to thieves ? There is no doubt that Lily should be in charge of the cash.
I would have liked to see this sub-theme developed more, or maybe I just missed it. Please blog in and let us know your thoughts on this next-to-last season ending episode.

The How I Met Your Mother Season 5 Finale is fast approaching! Only two weeks left to make it a night to remember. We want to help you celebrate Season 5 of How I Met Your Mother and keep the warm and funny memories of HIMYM alive until Season 6 begins. How, you ask? Let us help you by telling you how to throw an Awesome and Legendary How I Met Your Mother finale party! Follow our suggestions and you will be the talk of the town – you can thank us later!
Don’t forget to check out our Store section to pick up all the supplies you’ll need for your legendary party.
1. Food

No party is complete without great food…at least no GOOD party. Serve up some HIMYM-themed dishes to serve to your starving guests.
Here are a few easy recipes that you can whip up in no time!
- 7-layer dip
When Lily goes over to Marshall’s for Thanksgiving, his mom enlists her to help make their nausea-inducing, sugar-filled 7-layer dip.
Here is a tamer version that is reminiscent of that in-law awkwardness, but won’t make your guests puke all over your floor.

- Root Beer and Kahlua
During Season 1′s Halloween episode, Ted is in search of the “Slutty Pumpkin” who had slipped out of his grasp three
Halloweens ago. Once major clue as to her identity was that her favorite drink was Root Beer and Kahlua, an “alcoholic
tootsie roll”, if you will. For those under 21, just give them tootsie rolls and Root Beer and call it a day.
The recipe is simple enough, fill a glass with as much Kahlua as you can handle, fill the rest with Root Beer. Done.
- The Best Burger Ever
Who can forget when the gang goes in search for the best burger in New York? If you’re feeling adventurous, try this recipe, which seems to be fairly awesome:

If you lack the time or resources to pull that off, stop by Burger King and pick up a bag of Whoppers. Make a little sign that says
“Best Burgers Ever” to put next to them and voila! You’re good to go.
2. Music

How I Met Your Mother is big on music and pays special attention to the songs used in each episode. When your guests
begin arriving, have your own HIMYM soundtrack playing to set the mood. We have compiled two options for you,
depending on your mood and the atmosphere you’re going for.

OMG – the “gang of five” is going through a metamorphous. The big question is not whether there is life outside the five, but can the best ever friendships survive outside life.

Robin has her first serious relationship outside the gang with Don. Ted has found a notable sophisticated group that shares many of his interests, which gets him the raspberry when mentioned in the fab five. And are we going to see more of Marissa Heller as perhaps a “person of interest” for Ted ?
Clearly both Robin and Ted need more than the gang offers, and that’s cool.
But can Lily, Marshall and Barney “share” their friends with others ? Will they remain best friends or slowly drift apart as outside interests grow ?
The answer is clear. After all, Barney has his flings but doesn’t let them interfere with the group dynamics. And Lily and Marshall went through the search for “best friends” period, trying out other couples at dinner parties to see which ones made the cut.
Last week I questioned whether Don would become part of the group. After this episode I don’t believe that will happen, do you ? My rationale is clear – the gang of five will have outside interests and relationships that will provide a level of satisfaction not found within the group – but they will always come back to the group for something special that exists only there.
Now about the Wrestlers Versus Robots. I’m going to need some help here so please blog in and tell us all what you got out of this. How does this relate to anything at all – what’s the connection ? Could I have dozed off and missed something here ? It all seemed so detached from everything else.

You have to hand it to Don. Robin not only was Barney’s girl, but also Ted’s and she shares an apartment with him (well, not any more). That news comes after Don learns that Ted isn’t gay, so it must be all the harder to take.
And to top it all, they are still best friends.
A lot of guys could not handle all that, and Don has a moment of hesitation for sure. But to his credit he overcomes his doubts and Robin is his new roomie !!!
That leaves Ted with the lovely blue French Horn that he stole for Robin. And she takes everything with her as she moves, but the french horn. That was sad
I can’t help but think we haven’t heard the last of the French Horn or the yellow umbrella, or Barney’s playbook, the Bro Code. One of the appealing sides on HIMYM is the way they reintroduce past themes into new episodes.
And what’s all this from Barney wanting Robin back, and then Ted joins that chorus too !!! This could be for fear that Robin will no longer be part of the best friends group. What are the odds that Don will be joining the group rather than Robin leaving it ? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Finally, we get a little bit of marriage fatigue from Lily and Marshall. Twin beds? Come, on you’re kidding me. What’s next, separate rooms? No way. It was timely to see this side of the marriage just when Robin is entering into the adventure of a new relationship.
Overall, I thought this was one of the best episodes of Season 5. Can’t wait for the Season Finale !!!!
What did you all think?
